Hi, I'm
Erika Robson

About Me, I am an OFSTED registered and inspected childminder. I live with my husband Neil and my two children, Phoebe aged 16 and Toby aged 13 in a lovely rural village on the outskirts of Gatwick.

Having spent ten years working as a primary school teacher, I decided to leave the profession to embark on a new challenge and complete the necessary training needed to become a childminder in 2016. I have had plenty of experience looking after babies, toddlers and pre-school children working as a childminder from home for the last 8 years.

My Aim is to provide a ‘home from home’ environment for children where they can be happy, safe and develop new skills/learning.

To professionally deliver the government EYFS Framework (early years foundation stage) and track children's learning to ensure individual development.

To work closely with parents to ensure all children arrive and leave happy and content.

The Setting is our family home in the lovely rural village of Charlwood. Our home is set within a green belt and conservation area. Along with the countryside and woods on our doorstep, our 1 acre garden is a safe haven for little ones. Our grounds are securely fenced and gated so that children can enjoy playing outdoors, or feeding and collecting eggs from our chicken coop- we have 9 girls who are super friendly!

There is plenty of scope for outdoor learning in terms of parks and nearby farms/activity centres. A popular walk in the village is to partake on the ‘airfield’ walk across the fields to watch the planes take off and land in the distance at Gatwick airport!

Inside our home we have a large, well-stocked playroom with age appropriate toys for the children to play with. Here, children can also engage in more focused activities at a table such as painting or junk modelling. This room is also the designated sleeping area during the day, serving as a peaceful place for nap-time.
