''I have known Erika as a friend and colleague since 2006 when she joined the school, where I was Head teacher, as a class teacher. Erika was a wonderful teacher at our school for over 10years. Her calm, but no nonsense approach resulted in an atmosphere where the children could enjoy school whilst achieving high standards. Erika was always well prepared for lessons and ensured that the children would learn through well planned and enjoyable activities. She enjoys working with children and immersed herself into school life, supporting all school activities including being a strong supporter of PTA events. She was well liked by the children, parents and her colleagues. Erika was able to respond to all situations that arise when working with children, and was comfortable working with all ages. ''We are so lucky to have found Erika as our childminder. From the moment we met her we knew she would provide the perfect setting for our daughter, Emmie. Having previously used a nursery for our eldest child, we were looking for a more personal, home-from-home environment for our daughter and Erika provided exactly that. Erika looked after Emmie from the age of 12 months, right up until she went to school. From the very first day, Emmie quickly settled into life with Erika and always loved going there. Erika provided a varied day with lots of engaging activities and plenty of opportunities to get outside in the fresh air, even when the weather wasn’t playing ball. Emmie particularly enjoyed her trips to the park, feeding the chickens, doing some gardening, and jumping on the trampoline. The dedicated 1:1 time that Emmie spent with Erika meant that she was able to spend time working on her phonics and number recognition. Emmie loved this time with Erika and progressed quickly, even able to read simple words before she reached school age! Erika was always approachable and kept us updated each day with a written account of the activities they completed together. She also sent plenty of pictures. We are all so fond of the time Emmie spent with Erika and couldn’t recommend her highly enough! She is everything you would want in a childminder and more!''
